So I have big plans for this summer--big learning plans! I have an entire list of things I want to learn discover and explore this summer before I begin my work as an elementary library media specialist. To begin my exploration, I knew I wanted to start a blog. Back in 2009 and 2010, I ran some personal blogs using Blogger, and was pretty comfortable with the application. I also recently started a Wordpress blog to use as a professional online presence and online portfolio. It's pretty basic right now, but I hope to grow it into something more with time. And I decided to create this blog in Weebly, mainly because I was unfamiliar with Weebly, and my goal is to gain experience with lots of different tools. I also have heard and seen a few teacher librarian I respect use Weebly, so I thought I should give it a chance. So here I am in Weebly.
So the first thing I had to do was come up with a catchy title. I thought about using librarian like the Daring Librarian, Mighty Little Librarian, or Unquiet Librarian. I thought about being the Messy Librarian, the Progressive Librarian, or even the Re-Emerging Librarian, but these didn't work. I finally decided on Wallace Wonders, mainly because this is a blog for me to explore, to learn, and to reflect on that learning. The alliteration might be a little corny, but it's OK. My goal is to explore, learn, tinker, read, and to write about it. Simple as that, well not so much when you actually have to put your thoughts down and you want to make them perfect. So I'm NOT going to do that--we're going for messy imperfection here. (I'm really just talking to myself, reassuring myself that it is OK for me to put myself out there in this way, because being perfect is just too hard. And it's so not fun. ) And I'm working on the fun.
So now that I have a title, I can actally blog! And explore! And begin! So much to do, and where should I start? I think creating a blog header is next on the list.
